This is the first of what I’m sure will be a few updates on my first real “decor” projects- designing my own office! I’ve been dreaming of the day when I don’t have to store my equipment/materials/etc in the living, the day that our dining room table can truly function as a place to dine and not as my computer desk. With our move coming up this weekend, Matt and I will finally have a place for me to call my own. He won’t have to deal with me leaving the remnants of a DIY project in front of/all over the couch anymore, or the annoyance of my file box being left in front of the TV [again].
My biggest hurdle to overcome so far has been “of all one trillion and twelve paint colors available by Behr, which one is MY color?” I’ve spent the last few days agonizing over paints chips with exotic names like Malibu Sunrise and Porpoise Gray, and I’ve finally settled on “Malted Milk,” which is like a darker version of the ivory background on my blog. My mantra throughout the planning process has been that I want my office to be an extension of my website. I want for someone to be able to walk into my office and say “yeah, this is definitely Abby Grace’s office.”
So without further ado, I present my first inspiration board! The middle color of the paint swatch is the one I’m using for my office! (it’ll look better once it’s ON the wall, and it doesn’t help that I took this photo in non-natural light).

Image credits: chair, organizational stuff, curtain pull, doorknob (I found a similar one at Anthropologie), pink curtains.
I can’t WAIT to get painting, decorating and organizing. And at the end of the day, I can close the door to my office, and Matt and I can enjoy having a real living room, as opposed to a living room/office/studio. YAY!
Happy Thursday!
